GSL Education are seeking a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to work within schools in Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children with behavioural needs, and who are confident in helping pupils manage their emotions and re-engage with their education.

Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff and the SEN/behaviour teams to promote a positive learning environment and reduce instances of disruption. Your support will help students build emotional regulation skills and improve their overall school experience.

Responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant:

• Provide 1:1 or small group behaviour interventions.
• Support pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties both in and out of class.
• Help develop and implement behaviour support plans.
• Assist in de-escalating situations and promoting conflict resolution.
• Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to monitor progress and strategies.

Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant:

• Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges.
• A calm, patient, and empathetic attitude.
• Ability to set boundaries and use positive behaviour management techniques.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• A full CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
