A major NHS trust in Manchester is seeking applications for a Senior Locally Employed Doctor in General Paediatrics. The role includes providing patient care at one of the largest children’s hospitals in the UK, involving out-of-hours cover and clinical responsibilities. Candidates must have at least 3 years of structured training in pediatrics and relevant English language skills. Applications are invited for vacancies at Senior Locally Employed Doctor level in General Paediatrics at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and its Managed Clinical Services at North Manchester General Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital.
Interviews will be held via MS Teams and all candidates should be expected to commence in post no later than early June 2026.
Successful candidates will gain specialist paediatric experience within one of the largest children’s hospitals in the UK, with additional responsibility for provision of out of hours cover. You will:
All middle grade posts involve an element of out of hours resident on-call duties covering admissions and ward patients. Daily ward rounds are led by the hot week Consultant. The ST4+ role includes regular OP clinic commitments and administrative duties as well as a role in medical student education. All referrals regarding Child Protection are seen by middle grade doctors/Consultants. There may also be opportunities to be based in one of our tertiary medical specialties.
