A leading healthcare provider in the United Kingdom is looking for Healthcare Science Support Workers to join their Blood Sciences team. The role involves handling laboratory specimens and performing various clerical and administrative duties across two hospital sites. Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and Bank Holidays. The position offers a dynamic work environment within a large and reputable NHS Trust.
The Blood Sciences Department at the Wirral University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust currently has vacancies for Healthcare Science Support Workers (HSSW) – Band 2.
The role includes working as part of a team of other staff within the Blood Sciences specimen reception. The role will involve working in a high pressured environment taking receipt of large volumes of laboratory specimens. Checking and examining electronic and paper requests and transfer requests onto the Laboratory Information System in preparation for sample analysis. You will be rostered into the laboratory department as part of a team of Band 2 staff, carrying out technical, clerical and administrative duties on both Wirral University Teaching Hospital sites - Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals.
It is essential that you have the ability to work flexibly between the hours of 07:00 and 21:00, inclusive of Saturday and Sunday and Bank Holiday, on rotation.
