The Role

Diaspora Insurance is seeking a passionate, outgoing, and driven Digital Marketing and Social Media Executive to join their marketing team focusing on the East African communities in the United Kingdom (East Africa Corridor). You will be joining a dynamic and ambitious firm focused on making a huge impact on the African diasporas in terms of managing their insurable risks.


Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Digital Marketing and Social Media Executive include, but are not limited to:

  1. Driving traffic to the website and generating hot leads.
  2. Developing and implementing digital marketing strategies across digital functions of SEO, PPC, and Social Media, Influencer and email marketing.
  3. Developing and managing digital and social media campaigns to generate leads.
  4. Creating and executing SMS and email-based marketing campaigns.
  5. Market analysis and intelligence.
  6. Developing engaging online content including videos, video scripts, graphics, infographics, web pages, ebooks, and blogs; monitoring and analysing content success.
  7. Adverts copywriting and scripting.
  8. Influencer recruitment, management, and deliverables tracking.
  9. Working on SEO of the website pages and driving traffic to the website.
  10. Track the website traffic flow and provide internal reports regularly.
  11. Creating and managing link-building strategies, content marketing strategies, and social media presences.
  12. Researching and identifying new digital marketing trends and ensuring that the brand is in front of the industry developments.
  13. Effectively manage third-party providers.
  14. Attending events to create content.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Digital Marketing and Social Media Executive are:

  1. Degree in digital marketing/marketing/sales from a reputable university.
  2. Keen and passionate about marketing and willing to learn new things.
  3. Social Media, Copywriting, and content marketing skills essential.
  4. Deep knowledge of the East African diaspora communities (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda) in the UK is a key advantage.
  5. Leads nurturing through email and other channels.
  6. Hands-on social and digital adverts and promotions are essential.
  7. Keyword research is essential.
  8. Experience in influencer management.
  9. Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and Google suite of tools.
  10. Website management with knowledge of WordPress is desirable.
  11. Understanding of SEO.
