• Degree Qualified (or experience equivalent to a degree).
• Strong experience in Environmental Management within the construction industry.
• Good understanding of environmental legislation relevant to the construction industry.
• Good understanding of the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard.

• Coordinate and lead environmental & sustainability requirements within the STRABAG UK Build Division, assisting the Director of Environment and Sustainability in improving Management Systems in line with ISO 14001, ISO 50001, PAS 2080, etc. Conduct assurance visits and provide environmental advice and support to Business Unit employees.
• Advise and support Project Management and Supervisors in discharging their environmental responsibilities; respond to queries or correspondence on environmental issues.
• Ensure employees are aware of their statutory duties and understand the Group Environmental Procedures and Guidance Notes.
• Lead on environmental and sustainability initiatives, including drafting PQQ & ITT responses, developing programmes, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Oversee project delivery from an environmental perspective, ensuring subcontracted environmental services support project execution.
• Perform regular contract environmental assurance activities to monitor compliance with legislation and company procedures, ensuring controls are effective.
• Conduct due diligence on project information, identifying permitting and consenting requirements, and managing stakeholders to facilitate compliance.
• Log, monitor, and investigate environmental incidents and non-conformances; ensure major incidents are reported appropriately.
• Collect and report environmental and sustainability statistics for the Business Unit/Contract.
• Analyze statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement environmental campaigns and improvement plans in collaboration with senior management.
• Produce Contract Environmental Management Plans and site-specific environmental instructions.
• Identify significant environmental impacts and establish controls within contracts.
• Maintain records to ensure compliance with legislation, procedures, and contract requirements.
• Provide environmental training to employees as needed and maintain training records.

The role is based in the Solihull area, with travel to operational sites as needed.
