Health & Safety Compliance Advisor

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent (Office–based with some site travel – expenses paid)

Salary: 32,000 – 37,000 per annum, dependent on experience (plus company benefits)

Hours: Full–time (Monday to Friday)

My client, a small but growing and well–established construction / environmental services business based in Sittingbourne, is seeking a proactive and dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to support their operations across the Local and London area. You will be working with the Contracts Manager and assisting them is running sites from a H&S aspect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise managers and staff on all health, safety, and welfare matters to ensure compliance with legal and company standards
• Conduct health & safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Assist in developing and implementing safety plans to minimise risk and drive safety improvements
• Provide coaching and training across teams to embed a strong safety culture
• Stay current with legislation, ensuring it is reflected in policies and practices
• Act as the main point of contact for H&S across sites – local and London area.
• Liaise with external bodies such as the HSE, Fire Service, and Police when required
• Take necessary action to stop or prohibit unsafe work activities

Candidate Requirements:

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or willing to undertake training with full support)
• IOSH membership or progression toward it
• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
