Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group in Guildford is seeking a compassionate Supported Housing Support Worker for Guildford Foyer, a 33-bed service for young people aged 16 to 25. The role is 37.5 hours per week, permanent and onsite, with a seven-day rolling rota including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

You will support residents with occupancy agreements, rent management and welfare benefits, coach independence, maintain records, and follow safeguarding and trauma-informed practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or supported accommodation.
• Strong understanding of occupancy agreements and rent management.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and tenancy sustainment.
• Ability to manage arrears and non-compliance with restorative approaches.
• Clear safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Housing and Compliance: support occupancy agreements, house rules and independent living.
• Promote rent payments and financial obligations.
• Stay updated on housing law and welfare benefits.
• Respond to breaches with restorative approaches and team collaboration.
• Coaching and Engagement: help young people articulate goals and develop skills.
• Maintain client records on In-Form and evidence outcomes.
