Job summary

YMCA DownsLink Group in Eastbourne is seeking a Supported Housing Support Worker to join the team at Eastbourne Foyer with a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You will hold a caseload of residents, conduct weekly key work sessions and develop personalised support plans to help youths move toward independent living.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or supported accommodation.
• Strong understanding of occupancy agreements, rent management, welfare benefits, and tenancy sustainment.
• Ability to manage arrears, ASB, and other non-compliance issues using restorative approaches.
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with statutory and voluntary services available to young people and ability to work with a caseload to support progression toward independent living.

Responsibilities

• Housing and Compliance: support residents to understand occupancy agreements, promote rent payments, stay updated on housing law and policies.
• Coaching and Engagement: help residents articulate goals and engage with services; maintain safeguarding standards and keep records.
• Client records: maintain case notes and activity records in the client database; monitor outcomes and service performance.
