YMCA DownsLink Group in Guildford is seeking a compassionate Supported Housing Support Worker for the Guildford Foyer, a 33-bed service for young people. The role covers housing compliance, safeguarding, and empowerment support on a 24/7 rota, with trauma-informed practices guiding daily work.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing or supported accommodation, ideally with young people.
• Strong record-keeping and clear written communication.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and signposting.
• Autonomy to work on caseload while contributing to a team.
• Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Support housing occupancy agreements and house rules.
• Manage rent payments and welfare benefits awareness.
• Keep up-to-date with housing law and organisational policies.
• Respond to breaches of tenancy using restorative approaches.
• Coach young people to gain independent living skills and engagement.
• Maintain client records on In-Form detailing progress and outcomes.
• Be prepared for lone-working with proper induction and training.
