Job summary

Nurseplus Herefordshire is seeking a compassionate Children & Young People’s Support Worker to help young people aged 5–25 across Herefordshire with SEMH needs. The role requires a driver with access to their own car, a minimum of 6 months UK healthcare experience, and the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not offered.

You’ll provide person-centred support, personal care, mentoring and help with education and activities, while following care plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' UK healthcare experience.
• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is mandatory.
• Experience providing personal care including toileting and continence care.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own car.
• Right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship not offered.
• Clear enhanced DBS (to apply on registration).

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centred support to children and young people with needs.
• Provide personal and intimate care as required, including toileting and continence care.
• Assist with washing, dressing and hygiene while maintaining dignity and independence.
• Build positive relationships and mentor young people to develop confidence and life skills.
• Support engagement in educational, recreational and therapeutic activities.
• Follow individual care, support and risk-management plans.
