Job summary

Nurseplus UK Ltd is seeking a compassionate Children & Young People’s Support Worker to support 5‑25 year olds with SEMH and additional needs across Herefordshire. The role requires a driver with access to their own car; a DBS check is required.

You will provide personal and intimate care when needed, support education and activities, and promote safe, inclusive care. We offer flexible shifts, weekly pay, and industry training including NVQ levels 2 and 3.

Qualifications

• 6 months’ UK healthcare experience mandatory.
• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, SEMH or neurodiversity is beneficial.
• Experience providing personal care including toileting and continence care.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centred support to children and young people with SEMH needs.
• Perform personal care and intimate care as required, including toileting and continence support.
• Assist with washing, dressing and hygiene while maintaining dignity and privacy.
• Build positive, trusting relationships and mentor young people to develop confidence.
• Support engagement in educational, recreational and therapeutic activities.
• Provide emotional support, reassurance and positive guidance.
• Follow individual care plans and risk-management procedures.
• Communicate effectively with families and professionals involved in the care.
