Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking an Education Youth Support Worker to join a Newport school. You will support learners with SEMH needs, ASC, ADHD, and PMLD, in a calm, safe environment, often in small groups or 1:1 settings.

The role emphasises consistent emotional support and relationship-based learning approaches. Full UK driving licence and access to personal transport are preferred; DBS on Update Service and EWC registration are required or will be supported.

Qualifications

• DBS on Update Service (we can support you with this)
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
• Full UK driving licence and access to personal transport
• All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role

Responsabilités

• Supporting learners to regulate their emotions using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
• Supporting the class teacher in daily activities
• Helping pupils re-establish positive learning routines while developing resilience, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Implementing behaviour support plans and using de-escalation strategies effectively
• Encouraging engagement through personalised activities that promote confidence, self-esteem, and motivation
