Job summary

Llys Awen provides 24-hour temporary supported accommodation in the Gorseinon area of Swansea for young people aged 16 to 21. As a Scheme Support Officer you will be the first point of contact, building positive relationships and helping residents transition to independent living.

You will support budgeting, welfare benefits, day-to-day living skills, and engage with partners to connect residents with services.

Qualifications

• A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible.
• Strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player.
• Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations.
• Good understanding of barriers faced by young people experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Engaging and interacting with the people we support to help them connect with other support services.
• Supporting Project Workers in delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing.
• Carrying out health and safety checks plus wellbeing checks within the scheme.
• Addressing any additional needs the people we support might have.
• Building community links and establishing partnerships that benefit our customers.
• Managing diverse behaviours and conflicts with empathy and adaptability.
