Llys Awen provides 24-hour temporary supported accommodation in the Gorseinon area of Swansea for young people aged 16 to 21. As a Scheme Support Officer you will be the first point of contact, building positive relationships and helping residents transition to independent living.
You will support budgeting, welfare benefits, day-to-day living skills, and engage with partners to connect residents with services.

18hrs & 28hrs available, the working pattern for each role is as follows -
18hrs - 3 evenings per week, every other weekend off.
28hrs - 4 days per week (mornings/afternoons), every other weekend off.
About the role
Llys Awen provides 24-hour temporary supported accommodation in the Gorseinon area of Swansea for young people aged between 16 to 21 years old. The staff team specialise in providing support within a psychology informed environment. Our Scheme Support Officers enable our young people to achieve their goals and empower them to lead independent lives.
This is the perfect opportunity for anyone who has a passion for helping young people recognise their true potential and will provide you with a rewarding career. You will act as a first point of contact for the people we support. You will build positive relationships by helping them make a transition into independent living and advise on move on options. You will provide advice with budgeting and money management, including welfare benefits, as well as support them in a practical way, with regards to day to day living skills.

You will be faced with complex behaviours and needs. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental and manage disputes or conflicts appropriately.
