Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is hiring a Higher Level Learning Support Assistant for a prestigious secondary school in Chelsea, London. The role focuses on supporting Year 7 transition and delivering targeted academic and pastoral assistance to students.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEN team, providing 1:1 and small-group support and helping students settle into secondary school in a rewarding, long-term position.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HLTA, Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
• Secondary school experience.
• Experience supporting Year 7 students or transition.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• A positive, patient and supportive approach.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students transitioning into Year 7.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support.
• Supporting students with organisation, confidence and engagement.
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and the SEN team.
• Monitoring student progress and supporting interventions.
