Job summary

New Waltham Academy located in the United Kingdom is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team. The post supports pupils across age ranges, working under supervision and alongside a classroom teacher to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum within term-time only duties.

The HLTA will assist in planning, assessment and differentiation, provide pastoral support where needed, and contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Completion of Higher Level Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification or significant experience.
• Good literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to differentiate and deliver the curriculum to groups and individuals.
• Support pupils with SEN and personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lessons with teachers, participating in planning and assessment.
• Provide detailed feedback to teachers and pupils on progress.
• Organise learning environment and resources for effective learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse pupil needs.
• Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and managing learning activities.
• Carry out routine admin tasks and basic ICT duties.
• Supervise pupils during breaks and transitions ensuring safety.
• Participate in professional development and school meetings.
