Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support students in accessing learning and building confidence. You will work under a named teacher, delivering targeted interventions and helping students progress across classes and environments.

You will have HLTA standards or equivalent, plus Level 2 in English and Maths, and you will collaborate with SEND colleagues to remove barriers to learning while maintaining high expectations and

Qualifications

• HLTA standards or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Level 2 English and mathematics qualification required.
• Knowledge of National Curriculum and learning processes.

Responsibilities

• Support students to access the curriculum and make progress in small groups or 1:1.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and promote student welfare.
• Create a calm, inclusive learning environment with high expectations.
• Support SEND learners with targeted strategies under SENCO direction.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEND colleagues.
• Prepare learning resources and assist with examinations/assessments as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals to support outcomes.
• Contribute to wider school life and professional development.
