Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment are seeking a Year 6 General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the PR1 area. The role is full-time term-time with pay dependent on experience and a daily rate of £93-£100.

The ideal candidate has prior TA experience in a primary setting, strong KS2 knowledge for Year 6, and the confidence to support pupils in class and small groups. A proactive, reliable approach and an Enhanced DBS (Update Service) are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly Year 6.
• Confidence supporting pupils both in class and in small group interventions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning.
• An Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered on the Update Service (essential).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in class and in small group interventions under teacher supervision.
• Assist in implementing KS2 curriculum activities for Year 6.
• Provide proactive support to pupils to help them reach learning goals.
• Attend DBS checks and maintain safeguarding standards as required.
