Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a confident Year 1 Class Teacher with SEN experience for a primary school in St Albans. The post is full-time, long-term temporary until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent appointment.

You will join a small Year 1 class supported by two teaching assistants to help pupils access learning and develop confidence. The ideal candidate holds QTS, has recent KS1 Year 1 experience, and a proven track record of supporting children with SEN.

Qualifications

• QTS and recent Year 1/KS1 teaching experience are essential.
• Experience supporting children with SEN is required.
• Solid understanding of the KS1 curriculum and Year 1 phonics is expected.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation are needed.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for planning, delivering and assessing learning across Year 1.
• Adapt lessons to meet a range of abilities and additional learning needs.
• Work closely with two Teaching Assistants to provide an inclusive classroom experience.
• Establish clear routines, positive relationships and high expectations.
• Deliver engaging KS1 lessons, including effective phonics teaching.
