Job summary

A highly regarded primary school in St Albans is looking to appoint an experienced Year 1 Teacher for an immediate start, initially on a long-term temporary basis through to the end of the academic year. The role involves a small Year 1 class with two supportive TAs already in place.

SEN experience is essential, and the successful teacher will need to support pupils with additional learning needs and adapt teaching to meet a range of abilities.

Qualifications

• QTS with recent Year 1/KS1 teaching experience.
• SEN experience essential.
• Strong classroom management and ability to differentiate for learners.
• Phonics knowledge and early literacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Year 1 class with two supportive TAs to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Plan and deliver well-structured lessons aligned to Year 1 curriculum.
• Differentiate teaching to meet a range of abilities and support SEN pupils.
• Establish positive relationships and maintain high expectations in a calm, productive classroom.
