Job summary

Mole Valley Farmers Limited in Tavistock is seeking a friendly Yard Team Member to support stock handling, customer service and store operations. This seasonal, part-time role focuses on delivering a high standard of presentation and service across the yard and store.

You will work 13.5 hours per week, mainly Saturdays and Sundays, starting 19 November 2026 through 19 December 2026, with training provided and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, or retail environment preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard
• Receiving, checking, and loading stock accurately
• Supporting Point of Sale operations when required
• Maintaining external areas to high standards of presentation
• Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting seasonal stock reviews
• Participating in stocktaking and maintaining stock file integrity
• Following health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations

Description

We’re looking for a hardworking and customer-focused Yard Team Member to support the day-to-day operations of our yard and store. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for our members and customers, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

About The Role

Contract: Temporary, starting 19th November 2026 until 19th December 2026

Hours: Part-time

Hours of Work: 13.5 Hours per week, working Saturday and Sunday

As a Yard Team Member, you’ll play a key role in stock handling, customer service, and maintaining high standards across external areas. You’ll support the Stock Supervisor and wider team to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for everyone who visits the store.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard
• Receiving, checking, and loading stock accurately and efficiently
• Supporting Point of Sale operations when required
• Maintaining external areas to a high standard of presentation
• Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting seasonal stock reviews
• Participating in stocktaking and maintaining stock file integrity
• Following health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations

About You

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, or retail environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings (beneficial)
• A forklift truck licence (advantageous)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
• Good IT skills and confidence using systems
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
• Awareness of Data Protection / GDPR and Health & Safety standards
• You’ll be friendly, self-motivated, and adaptable, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and working as part of a team.
