Job summary

Mole Valley Farmers Limited is seeking a dedicated Yard Team Member in South Molton. This fixed-term contract role focuses on stock handling, customer service, and maintaining a safe, welcoming yard and store for members and customers.

You will support the Stock Supervisor, assist with POS operations when needed, and help uphold high standards across external areas while working on a 30-hour weekly rota basis.

Qualifications

• Experience in a yard, warehouse or retail environment preferred.
• Good communication and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with data protection and health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service at the counter and in the yard.
• Receive, check and load stock accurately and efficiently.
• Support point of sale operations when required.
• Maintain external areas to a high standard of presentation.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and support stock reviews.
• Participate in stocktaking and maintain stock file integrity.
• Follow health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations.

Compensation: £10.85 - £12.71 / hour

Description

We’re looking for a hardworking and customer-focused Yard Team Member to support the day-to-day operations of our yard and store. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for our members and customers, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

About The Role

Contract: Temporary

Hours: Full-time

Hours of Work: 30 Hours per week, working on a rota basis

As a Yard Team Member, you’ll play a key role in stock handling, customer service, and maintaining high standards across external areas. You’ll support the Stock Supervisor and wider team to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for everyone who visits the store.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard
• Receiving, checking, and loading stock accurately and efficiently
• Supporting Point of Sale operations when required
• Maintaining external areas to a high standard of presentation
• Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting seasonal stock reviews
• Participating in stocktaking and maintaining stock file integrity
• Following health & safety procedures and UFAS regulations

About You

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, or retail environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings (beneficial)
• A forklift truck licence (advantageous)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
• Good IT skills and confidence using systems
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
• Awareness of Data Protection / GDPR and Health & Safety standards
• You’ll be friendly, self-motivated, and adaptable, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and working as part of a team.
