Job summary

Mole Valley Farmers Limited in Newton Abbot is seeking a Yard Team Member to support daily yard and store operations. The role is full-time on a fixed-term contract, with 37.5 hours per week across 5 days. You will help manage stock, serve customers, and maintain a welcoming environment for members and customers.

Key responsibilities include stock handling, POS support, and maintaining presentation in external areas, while adhering to health and safety standards and data protection guidelines.

Responsibilities

Description

We’re looking for a hardworking and customer-focused Yard Team Member to support the day-to-day operations of our yard and store. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll help maintain a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for our members and customers, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

About The Role

Hours:Full-time

Hours of Work:37.5 Hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days

As a Yard Team Member, you’ll play a key role in stock handling, customer service, and maintaining high standards across external areas. You’ll support the Stock Supervisor and wider team to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for everyone who visits the store.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering excellent customer service at the counter and across the yard

• Supporting Point of Sale operations when required
• Maintaining external areas to a high standard of presentation
• Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting seasonal stock reviews

About You

• Experience in a yard, warehouse, or retail environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with agricultural or countryside settings (beneficial)
• A forklift truck licence (advantageous)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
• Good IT skills and confidence using systems
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
• Awareness of Data Protection / GDPR and Health & Safety standards
• You’ll be friendly, self‑motivated, and adaptable, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and working as part of a team.
