Job summary

Jewson, part of Stark UK, is recruiting a Yard Supervisor for our Newton Abbot branch. You will welcome customers, learn our products, and help the team with daily duties including route planning for drivers and stock checks. Training for forklift operation will be provided as you help keep the yard organised and safe.

The role is full-time, with standard hours Monday–Friday and alternating Saturdays. A supportive team and strong pension and benefits accompany the position.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with branch projects.
• Know product lines to provide help and advice.
• Ensure the team is ready for the day and plan driver routes.
• Process and prepare orders; load/unload with a forklift (training provided).
• Support management and act as keyholder when needed.
• Check deliveries and report missing or damaged items.
• Maintain stock in warehouse and yard with regular counts.
• Keep the branch clean and promote health and safety.
• Suggest improvements with colleagues.

We are recruiting for a Yard Supervisor to join our thriving branch in Newton Abbot, and become part of a successful and supportive team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects

• Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice

• Ensure your team are set up for the day, including delivery drivers with route planning

• Help to process and prepare customer orders - load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided!)

• Work as a direct support the management team and act as a keyholder when needed

• Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products

• Maintain stock levels in both the warehouse and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts

• Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority

• Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement

Working Hours:

This is afull-time role working Monday-Friday07:00 –17:00, and every other Saturdayfrom08:00-12:00
