Job summary

Jewson, part of Stark UK, is hiring a Driver to deliver and collect customer orders using a 3.5 tonne van from the Colchester branch. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 7:00–16:30 with alternating Saturdays 08:00–12:00. You will load/unload and may operate a forklift after training while maintaining excellent customer service and strong relationship building.

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and safe handling.
• Acknowledge customers and identify needs to provide excellent service.

• Maintain high standards at yard, counter and shop floor.
• Operate loading/unloading and basic forklift tasks as trained.
• Support sales and service initiatives to improve outcomes.

As part of the role, you will be required to drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 7:00 – 16:30, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collect and deliver customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring orders are accurate, secured and loaded/offloaded safely in accordance with company procedures
• Acknowledge every customer, ascertain their needs and wow them with quick and efficient service
• Ask open questions to build strong relationships and understand our customers current and future requirements so we can support all their needs
• Maintain excellent standards across the yard, counter and shop floor
• Operate machinery safely and carry out key operational activities such as offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles
• Support business initiatives to increase sales, margin & service as required
• Continually develop your knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs
• Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift (training will be provided)
