Job summary

Jewson in Wadebridge is hiring a Yard Sales/ Tool Hire Adviser to join our friendly team. You will deliver proactive customer service, help customers choose tools and materials, and support yard operations with safety and efficiency.

You’ll work 07:30–16:30 Monday to Friday, with every other Saturday 08:00–12:00, and have opportunities for training and career development. We’re looking for candidates who bring enthusiasm, decency and team spirit, and who take pride in delivering top-notch

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.
• Positive attitude with a passion for retail/merchant environment.
• Honesty and integrity in workplace interactions.
• Ability to work well in a team and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge every customer and identify needs with quick, efficient service.
• Ask open questions to understand current and future requirements.
• Maintain high standards across yard, counter and shop floor.
• Operate machinery safely; perform loading/unloading and stock tasks.
• Support initiatives to drive sales, margins and service levels.
• Grow knowledge of core and specialist product ranges to meet customer needs.
• Assist with loading/unloading vehicles; training provided.

Jewson are looking for a Yard Sales/ Tool Hire Adviser to join the friendly and supportive team at our branch in Wadebridge.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Acknowledge every customer, ascertain their needs and wow them with quick and efficient service
• Ask open questions to build strong relationships and understand our customers current and future requirements so we can support all their needs
• Maintain excellent standards across the yard, counter and shop floor
• Operate machinery safely and carry out key operational activities such as offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles
• Support business initiatives to increase sales, margin & service as required
• Continually develop your knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs
• Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift (training will be provided)

Working Hours

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday 07:30 – 16:30, and every other Saturday from 08:00-12:00.
