Job summary

Buildit Gloucester branch is seeking a reliable Yard Operative to join the team. You will load and unload building materials, prepare customer orders, assist customers in the yard and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires good communication, a full UK driving licence, and ideally forklift experience or training. This is a full-time permanent position at Gloucester branch with training and staff discounts offered.

Qualifications

• Customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Forklift licence is preferred but not essential.
• Must have a Full UK driving licence.
• Yard or builders’ merchant experience is desirable.
• Sales or product knowledge is a bonus.

We’re now looking for a reliable Yard Operative to join our team at our Gloucester branch.

The Role

What You’ll Be Doing

• Load and unload building materials and timber
• Pick and prepare customer orders
• Assist customers collecting goods from the yard
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe yard area
• Operate forklift trucks (if trained)
• Follow all health and safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Good communication and customer service skills
• Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
• Full UK driving licence
• Yard or builders’ merchant experience (desirable)
• Sales or product knowledge is a bonus

Working Hours

• Week 1: Monday – Friday 07:00–16:30
• Week 2: Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:30 Every other Saturday 08:00-12:00
