Job summary

Bury CofE Primary School is seeking a Wraparound Care Assistant to provide safe, engaging care for pupils before and after school. You will plan age-appropriate activities, prepare healthy snacks and help create a welcoming environment that supports learning and wellbeing.

The role supports pupils with play and learning, building strong relationships with children, families and staff, and upholding the school's behaviour policy within a supportive Grace Schools context.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience in preparing and serving healthy snacks.
  • Strong organisational, personal time management and planning skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well in a team and with families/community.

Responsibilities

  • Plan activities appropriate to the age and needs of the pupils across learning areas.
  • Set up the room to receive pupils in a purposeful environment.
  • Organise refreshments and ensure pupils’ individual needs are met.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, modelling high expectations.
  • Encourage pupil interaction and engagement in activities.
  • Support pupils in play while ensuring safety and following school policies.

Job description

Job Title: Wraparound Care Assistant

Bury CofE Primary School, part of Grace Schools


Key responsibilities:


  • Plan activities appropriate to the age and the needs of the pupils taking into account different areas of learning

  • Ensure the room is set up to receive pupils into a purposeful environment

  • Organise refreshments, serving healthy foods and ensure pupil's individual needs are met

  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.

  • Encourage pupils to interact with each other and engage all pupils in activities

  • Be able to support pupils in their play, while maintaining their safety and following the school's behaviour policy


Pay, Hours and Contract:


  • £25,614 FTE

  • Approx. £2,894 pro-rata

  • 5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

  • permanent contract


Qualifications and skills:


  • A minimum qualification of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (previously Grade C) or above, or an equivalent qualification

  • Experience in preparing and serving healthy snacks

  • Strong organisational, personal time management and panning skills

  • High levels of collaboration, cooperation and team working capabilities

  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and members of the community
