Weeting Church of England Primary School in Brandon is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learning across all year groups. The role includes class cover, targeted interventions, and specialist support for SEND or EAL learners, with a focus on inclusive practice and safeguarding.

The position is permanent, 14 hours per week over 38 weeks, with a pro-rata salary of £8,766 and a total FTE of £27,709. This is a part-time, school-based role within Grace Schools.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in supporting teaching and learning.
  • Experience assisting teachers and covering lessons.

Responsibilities

  • Provide cover for teaching and learning of classes in all year groups.
  • Supervise and support pupils following a programme or intervention.
  • Support children with SEND or English as an additional language.
  • Deliver learning activities to individuals and small groups.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and parents to aid understanding.
  • Promote inclusive practice so all pupils can access learning.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Level 3

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and play a key role in ensuring high quality teaching and learning for all pupils across the school.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide cover for teaching and learning of classes in all year groups
  • Under the direction of the Class Teacher, supervise and support children in following a programme or study and/or intervention programme.
  • Provide specialist support to children with SEND or where English is not their first language.
  • Take responsibility for delivering learning activities with individual pupils and small groups.
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships with individual pupils, small groups and parents/carers to ensure they understand and can achieve the tasks.
  • Encourage and promote inclusion in every classroom, ensuring that all pupils can access the learning tasks and activities being delivered.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
  • Point 8 - £27,709 FTE
  • Approximately £8,766 pro rata
  • 14 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
  • Tuesday 1.15pm - 3.15pm, Wednesay 8.40am - 3.15pm, Thursday 8.40am - 3.15pm
  • Permanent contract
Qualifications and skills:
  • A minimum qualification of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (previously Grade C) or above, or an equivalent qualification
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent
  • Experience of assisting teachers in delivering the curriculum and supporting learning in a school setting, including covering lessons when required
  • Principles and practices of high quality teaching and learning
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and members of the community
  • High levels of adaptability and flexibility
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
