Job summary

Bury CofE Primary School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and help deliver high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils across the school. We are also advertising for a Breakfast Club Assistant and this role could be combined with the TA role for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include assessing pupil needs, building positive relationships, supporting individual learning and organizing learning environments.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above.
  • NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children and/or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and community.
  • High levels of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:
  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and skills to support pupils' learning
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
  • Organise and manage appropriate learning environments and resources
Pay, Hours and Contract:
  • Points 5 (FTE £26,427 per annum)
  • approx £16,423 pro-rata
  • 27.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
  • permanent
Qualifications and skills:
  • A minimum qualification of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (previously Grade C) or above, or an equivalent qualification
