St Christopher's Cevcp School in the UK is seeking a dedicated 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support EYFS/KS1 pupils and contribute to high quality teaching and learning. The role is 30 hours per week over 39 weeks, temporary, with pro rata salary arrangements.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and caregivers to foster an inclusive learning environment. Experience with children and safeguarding commitment are essential, with GCSEs and NVQ2 qualifications forming the base

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning.
  • Experience with children or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and the community.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced 1 -1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and play a key role in ensuring high quality teaching and learning for our EYFS/KS1 children.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and skills to support pupils' learning
  • Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
  • Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
  • Organise and manage appropriate learning environments and resources

Pay, Hours and Contract:

  • Points 5-6 (FTE £26,427 - £26,847)
  • £18,327 approx. pro rata
  • Working 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
  • Temporary

Qualifications and skills:

  • A minimum qualification of GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (previously Grade C) or above, or an equivalent qualification
  • NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent
  • Have experience of working with children and/or as a Teaching Assistant
  • Principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and members of the community
  • High levels of adaptability and flexibility
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
