Job summary

Oakington CofE Primary School is seeking a Senior Class Teacher (80%) to join our supportive team. You will lead teaching and learning across the school, work with SLT on strategic development, and ensure high standards in pupil outcomes within Grace Schools using our knowledge-rich curriculum.

The role requires QTS, a relevant degree, and previous primary class teaching experience, with responsibilities spanning planning, assessment and collaboration with parents and agencies.

  • Qualified Teacher Status is required.
  • Experience of working as a class teacher in a primary school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and monitor teaching, learning and behaviour across the school as part of SLT on strategic development.
  • Plan and teach lessons within the academy's knowledge-rich curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress and adapt teaching to maximise outcomes.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues and maintain high standards of teaching and safeguarding.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Class Teacher to join our supportive team and play a key role in ensuring high quality teaching and learning for all pupils across the school.

Key responsibilities:
  • A combination of teaching, supporting and monitoring teaching, learning and behaviour across the school as well as working as part of SLT on the strategic development of the school
  • Plan and teach lessons and sequences of lessons to the class(es) you are assigned to teach within the context of the academy's knowledge-rich curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils, planning and adapting your practice to ensure the best possible outcomes
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies in line with our Grace Schools Principles of Education
  • Be an excellent role model - exemplifying a high standard of teaching and promoting high expectation for all members of the school community
  • Maintaining the highest expectations for all children
Pay, Hours and Contract:
  • M6 +TLR 2
  • 80% per week
  • Permanent
Qualifications and skills:
  • Relevant degree or equivalent
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience of working as a class teacher in a primary school setting
  • Alignment to the Grace Schools Principles of Education
  • Knowledge of strategies to support learning, progress, and standards across the curriculum including evidence of impact on progress
  • Principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and members of the community
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
