Job summary

TIP Group is seeking a Workshop Manager to own workshop performance, keep trailers on the road, and lead a team that takes pride in doing the job right. This hands-on leadership role focuses on efficient, compliant workshop practices and cost-effective repair solutions for customer fleets.

You will analyse maintenance trends, manage staffing and overtime, and highlight commercial opportunities to management while maintaining a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Time-served technician background with City & Guilds L1–L3 and trailer/truck repair experience.
• Previous workshop or team management experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong organisation, admin, and IT skills to prioritise workloads.
• Confident communicator who can work autonomously and take ownership.
• Proactive mindset with a sense of ownership and a good sense of humour.

Responsibilities

• Managing workshop operations, including loading, repair prioritisation, systems, and processes.
• Leading a hands-on team to maintain safe, efficient workshop practices.
• Keeping fleets road-ready by minimising downtime and identifying economical repairs.
• Ensuring inspections, services, and repairs meet standards and legislation.
• Analysing maintenance trends, managing staffing and overtime, and highlighting opportunities.
