Job summary

Peterborough City Council seeks a Workshop Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of the vehicle maintenance workshop, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery of services across a diverse fleet. You will plan and coordinate activities, allocate resources and support technicians and apprentices while performing hands-on diagnostics, inspections and MOT testing.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle inspection, servicing and repair.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership and people-management skills in a busy workshop.
• Knowledge of DVSA MOT testing requirements and health & safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of vehicle maintenance workshop.
• Plan, coordinate and allocate resources to maximise productivity.
• Monitor performance and support technicians and apprentices to maintain high standards.
• Lead hands-on duties including diagnostics, inspections and MOT testing.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
