This is an exciting time to join the Royal Mail Fleet team as we work towards net zero, aiming for an all-electric delivery fleet by 2035. The role involves managing vehicle assets, maintenance, repairs, and fuel and supplier contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with legal and safety policies, meet safety targets, and deliver maintenance services while optimizing costs using resource planning and booking tools.
  • Improve the efficiency of Fleet Workshops to meet industry standards and implement changes efficiently.
  • Engage, communicate, and coach the Fleet Workshop team to support their development.
  • Achieve targets, including customer SLAs, through effective performance management.

  • Manage local IR interfaces, working collaboratively with union colleagues to deliver change.

You will also oversee mobile sites and sub-locations under your control.

About You

You must be fully qualified to at least advanced level (IMI Level 3) in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair or equivalent. You should have proven leadership experience in dispersed maintenance operations.

You should also be able to:

  • Influence and deliver results through people.
  • Manage relations with Trade Union partners.
  • Lead, develop, and coach teams to improve performance.
  • Be flexible to cover multiple shift operations and willing to travel within your area.
