Job summary

CV Technical Limited in Leicester is seeking a Workshop Engineer to join our specialist engineering business manufacturing cherry pickers and access equipment.

You will service, maintain and repair equipment, diagnose faults, and carry out inspections in a hands-on workshop environment. The role involves working with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, identifying faults and performing preventative maintenance. Days, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £37,000.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering, vehicle maintenance or plant machinery.
• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3.
• Experience as forklift/plant machinery technician.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, independent worker.
• Forklift or access equipment experience is beneficial.
• Experience on cars, commercial vehicles or plant machinery encouraged.

Responsibilities

We are recruiting for a Workshop Engineer to join a specialist engineering business manufacturing cherry pickers and access equipment.

This is a great opportunity for a mechanically minded engineer with experience in plant machinery, forklifts, cars or commercial vehicles to transfer their skills into a workshop-based engineering role.

The Role:

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on specialist access equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Complete inspections and ensure equipment is safe and ready for use.
• Work with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Identify faults and assist with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow health and safety procedures.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a mechanical engineering, vehicle maintenance or plant machinery role.
• Relevant mechanical qualifications, such as NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 or 3.
• Experience as a Forklift Engineer, Plant Fitter, Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, HGV Technician or similar.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.Forklift or access equipment experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Candidates with suitable mechanical experience working on cars, commercial vehicles or plant machinery are encouraged to apply
