Job summary

TipTopJob in Bolton seeks a Mechanical Technician to service and repair a range of forklift trucks in a busy workshop. You will perform PDIs and maintenance, with an emphasis on mechanical skills and fault finding. The role offers a Monday–Friday day shift with opportunities for overtime.

Applicants should have experience with plant or forklift equipment, good communication, and IT literacy. A Level 3 or equivalent qualification is preferred to support job performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate mechanical service and repair skills.
• Engine diagnostic ability is desirable.
• Basic electrical skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Mechanical Technician role available in a highly successful and international manufacturer of forklift trucks offering excellent training.

The Mechanical Technician role will be suitable for engineers from any kind of plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment. Automotive technicians/motor trade applicants will also be very suitable. You need to demonstrate mechanical service and repair skills, ideally have engine diagnostic and some basic electrical skills.

You’ll form part of a highly skilled team in a very reputable business. You’ll be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and breakdown on a range of forklifts. You’ll order any spares when needed and communicate progress.

Progression to roles such as Team Leader, Field Engineer and Sales Engineer roles are regularly available.

The Person Required
