Luton Bennett invites applications for a Mechanical Technician position in Felixstowe, a permanent role with a leading international forklift manufacturer. The job is based at a client site in Felixstowe, offering a Monday–Friday schedule and a starting salary up to £36,000 with a pension, life assurance and a benefits scheme.

You will perform PDIs, service and repair work on forklifts and related equipment, order spares, and help maintain uptime in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience on plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment.
• Engine diagnostic experience and basic electrical skills.
• Excellent communication and IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PDI’s, service and repair work on workshop and service basis on a range of forklift trucks at a client’s distribution centre.
• Work on a Monday to Friday basis in a busy workshop environment.
• Order spares when necessary.

Mechanical Technician role available in a highly successful and international manufacturer of forklift trucks. You’ll enjoy great benefits associated with a world leading company including comprehensive on the job training and progression routes to field service and leadership/management roles.

The Mechanical Technician role will be suitable for engineers from any kind of plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment. Automotive technicians/motor trade applicants will also be very suitable. You need to demonstrate mechanical service and repair skills, ideally have engine diagnostic and some basic electrical skills.

You’ll be based at a client’s site responsible for carrying out planned maintenance and breakdown on a range of equipment including forklifts, HGV's, Tractors, Lighting Towers and similar. You’ll order any spares when needed and communicate progress. There are over 200 pieces of equipment and a there is a dedicated workshop on site.
