Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting a Workshop Controller for a busy Bristol dealership. You will lead a team of 11 Vehicle Technicians, allocate work, and drive service department performance to meet customer expectations and safety standards.

The role offers a salary of up to £36,000 per year, plus an uncapped £6,000+ bonus. Hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am-6:00pm with no weekends, enhanced annual leave, and training opportunities through the manufacturer network.

Job description

Our client, a multi-franchise car dealer group established across South West England, is looking to hire a Workshop Controller for one of their busy franchise-approved car dealerships in Bristol.

• Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum pending qualifications with £6,000+ uncapped annual bonus potential.
• Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am-6:00pm. No weekends!

Reporting to the Aftersales Manager and accountable for a team of 11 Vehicle Technicians, as a Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for running the day-to-day function of the Service Department, allocating work, motivating and supervising the team in the workshop and ensuring safety, standards & efficiency by the Vehicle Technicians each day. You will work closely with our client's Service Advisors to ensure all work booked in is achievable and planned to meet customer expectations, industry standards and Vehicle Technician workflow.

To be eligible, you will ideally live in the Bristol region or within a reasonable commuting distance to Bristol and will need to have a proven track record in running a successful automotive workshop for the past three years, ideally within a franchise-approved car dealership. Overall, you will have excellent communication skills, good interpersonal skills and team orientation, be results-oriented, have problem-solving and decision‑making skills, put a focus on quality and reliability, and be IT literate. You will also need to have a UK driving licence with minimal points.
