Job summary

The Solution Automotive Limited in Liverpool is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead a busy, high-volume aftersales operation. You will oversee 25+ technicians, drive productivity, ensure quality and safety, and maximise labour sales while delivering an outstanding customer journey.

In this leadership role you will allocate work, monitor progress against targets and KPIs, and collaborate with Service Managers and Advisors to maintain a seamless workshop workflow and customer

• Proven experience as a Workshop Controller within a franchised dealership environment.
• Experience managing large teams of technicians (ideally 20+).
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume operation.
• Understanding of workshop efficiency, productivity and KPIs.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Controller to join one of the largest and most advanced automotive dealerships in the North West. This is a key leadership role within a busy, high-performing aftersales operation, overseeing a team of 25+ technicians in a modern, state-of-the-art workshop environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction across the workshop.

The Role

As Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of workshop operations, ensuring work is allocated effectively, productivity targets are achieved, and manufacturer standards are consistently met.

• Managing and controlling workflow across a large team of technicians.
• Allocating work to maximise workshop efficiency and technician productivity.
• Monitoring job progress and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Working closely with the Service Manager and Service Advisors to ensure a seamless customer journey.
• Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
• Driving labour sales, utilisation and workshop performance.
• Supporting technician development and maintaining a positive, professional culture.
• Managing workshop loading and capacity planning within a high-volume environment.
