The Role

As Workshop Controller, you will play a key role in coordinating the workshop and ensuring vehicles move efficiently through the repair process while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Allocating work to Technicians based on skill, experience and workload.
• Managing daily workshop workflow and productivity.
• Monitoring repair progress and ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales.
• Carrying out quality control checks on completed work.
• Supporting Technicians with technical queries and complex repairs.
• Liaising with Service Advisors to provide accurate updates on vehicle progress.
• Ensuring additional work is identified and communicated promptly.
• Monitoring technician efficiency, productivity and utilisation.
• Ensuring manufacturer and dealership repair procedures are followed.
• Supporting the team with technical guidance and problem solving.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety within the workshop.
• Helping to create a positive, productive and professional workshop environment.

About You

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Workshop Foreman, Senior Technician or experienced Vehicle Technician.
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Previous experience coordinating or supervising workshop activity.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure.
• Strong understanding of workshop productivity and efficiency.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Confident supporting and motivating a team.
• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
