Job summary

Majestic Wine Banstead is seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering an exceptional customer experience and maintaining high store standards.

This role requires WSET 2, a full UK driving licence, and proven experience in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment. 44 hours weekly, permanent contract, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
• Understanding of retail KPIs and how to drive improvements.
• Able to prioritise and solve problems under pressure.
• Self-motivated and capable of working alone or in a team.
• Can-do attitude with a passion for solving problems.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• WSET 2 qualification is essential; willingness to progress to WSET 3.
• Hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with limited penalties.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in driving sales and day-to-day operations.
• Drive store performance by maximizing sales opportunities and KPI focus.
• Deliver market leading customer service to drive loyalty and repeat purchases.
• Offer VIP concierge service with product updates and tastings.
• Sell the story with product knowledge, manage tastings and counter.
• Assist in recruitment, management & development of the team.
• Develop team members' product knowledge and WSET progression.
• Maintain the store's appearance and report issues promptly.
• Identify improvements to optimise store operations.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and mandatory training.
• Convey store and regional updates to the team.
