Job summary

Plumb Centre Whitby, part of the Wolseley Group, is hiring a Sales Assistant to help customers at the trade counter and grow repeat business. You will provide product recommendations, handle quotes, and assist with phone and email inquiries.

The role operates 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday 8am–5pm with 1-in-2 Saturdays 8am–12pm overtime. Driving licence preferred and knowledge of plumbing helpful.

Qualifications

• Experience in face-to-face sales or customer service.
• Knowledge of plumbing & heating is beneficial.
• Excellent communication and a customer-first approach.
• Full UK driving licence preferable.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the trade counter with product recommendations and quotations.
• Build relationships to drive repeat business and maximise lifetime value.
• Respond to enquiries via phone & email, providing prompt quotes.
• Carry out warehouse tasks: stock booking, put-aways, picking and packing orders.
