TeacherActive is recruiting a Welsh Speaking Childcare Assessor in Pontypool for two Welsh-medium schools. The role is part-time, 1.5 days per week, fixed-term until July 2027.

The assessor will deliver childcare qualifications in Welsh and separately assess seven learners across two sites, monitoring progress and providing feedback. Essential qualifications include TAQA or AVA, and fluent Welsh with the ability to teach and assess through Welsh.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with two Welsh-medium schools based in Caerphilly and Pontypool, who are looking to appoint a Welsh Speaking Childcare Assessor. Both settings provide education through the medium of Welsh, offering learners the opportunity to develop their knowledge and practical skills within childcare qualifications.

The schools are looking to take on a Welsh Speaking Childcare Assessor on a part-time, fixed-term basis through TeacherActive until July 2027, working 1.5 days per week. The successful Welsh Speaking Childcare Assessor will be responsible for delivering childcare qualifications through the medium of Welsh for one day per week, alongside half a day dedicated to assessing a total of seven learners across the two schools, monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback to support their achievement.

Requirements

• A recognised assessing qualification such as TAQA or AVA (essential)
• Fluency in Welsh, with the ability to teach and assess through the medium of Welsh (essential)
• Experience teaching, delivering or assessing childcare qualifications
• A strong understanding of childcare practices and assessment requirements
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A patient, supportive and adaptable approach to working with learners
