Job summary

Kauai in the United Kingdom is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead the café operations within our wellness club environment. This part-time role (30 hours) focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, managing the team, and ensuring brand standards are met.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 3 qualification required.
• Food Allergy and Intolerance training required.
• Experience in food service, hospitality or retail management.
• Experience leading and coaching high-performing teams.
• Strong operational and commercial awareness including labour, stock and budgets.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen compliance.
• Proficient with operational systems and MS Office.
• Flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily café operations ensuring service, food quality and brand standards.
• Recruit, coach and develop a high-performing team.
• Manage rotas, payroll, onboarding and performance.
• Drive profits via labour planning, stock control and waste management.
• Oversee ordering, deliveries, inventory and supplier relations.
• Champion food safety and allergen compliance.
• Resolve escalated customer queries and improve service quality.
• Maintain clean, organized front and back of house areas.
• Collaborate with Virgin Active club management to ensure seamless member experience.
