Job summary

Kauai is seeking a Supervisor to join the café team at Virgin Active in London. You will lead shifts, coach team members and ensure outstanding food quality, service and operational standards for a premium member experience.

Working alongside the Store Manager, you’ll drive customer service excellence, maintain hygiene standards and help deliver commercial objectives. This full-time role requires flexibility across early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 3 qualification.
• Food Allergy and Intolerance Training.
• Previous supervisory experience within hospitality, food service or retail is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
• Flexible approach to working early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of the café, leading shifts and ensuring smooth operations.
• Coach and support Team Members to deliver exceptional customer service and food quality.
• Ensure brand, food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
• Oversee food and beverage preparation, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met.
• Monitor stock levels, complete ordering and support stock control processes.
• Resolve customer queries professionally and support the team during busy trading periods.
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members while reinforcing operational standards.
• Maintain accurate operational records, food safety documentation and daily checklists.
• Work collaboratively with the Virgin Active team to deliver a seamless member experience.
• Support the Store Manager in achieving operational and commercial objectives.
