Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting for Wellbeing & Community Adviser roles in Morpeth to provide frontline welfare support and guidance to residents. The fixed-term position offers opportunities to assist with welfare, benefits, and community services, working within the Public Health, Stronger Communities and Inequalities service.

You will assess individual circumstances, determine suitable support pathways, and promote independence while contributing to Communities First initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to assess needs and signpost to appropriate services.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking initial enquiries, assessments and triage to identify residents' needs.
• Providing advice, guidance and signposting to welfare and community support services.
• Assessing eligibility and making decisions on local welfare assistance applications.
• Managing a caseload from initial assessment through to resolution.
• Identifying safeguarding concerns and taking appropriate action.
