Job summary

A leading construction firm in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled Welder to join their fabrication and construction team. The successful candidate will possess strong technical welding abilities, particularly with structural steel, and must be familiar with various welding processes such as MIG and TIG. Responsibilities include welding, fabricating steel components, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Certification in welding is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a welder, preferably within structural or heavy steelwork.
  • Valid CSCS is preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety‑concious Welder to join our clients fabrication and construction team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical welding abilities and experience working with structual steel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weld and fabricate structual steel components using MIG, TIG, and/or Stick (SMAW) welding processes.
  • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, drilling, or shaping steel components.
  • Perform layout, fitting, and assembly of steel structures according to specifications.
  • Conduct weld inspections and ensure all welds meet quality and safety standards.
  • Operate hand and power tools such as grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and magnetic drills.
  • Work at heights on scaffolding or elevated platforms when required.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with CNC cutting, robotic welding, or advanced fabrication equipment.
  • Valid CSCS is preffered.
  • Proven experience as a welder, preferably within structual or heavy steelwork.
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, overhead).
  • Valid welding certifications (e.g. ASME, AWS, EN ISO) preferred.
