Job summary

Stephens Bakery is seeking a Nightshift Bakery Assistant to help produce our award-winning products to the highest standards of food safety, quality, and consistency. You’ll be part of a team that truly puts Customer First and values a Can Do Attitude while we’re Stronger Together.

Hours are 16 hours per week (Friday & Saturday evenings), 6:00pm–2:30am. Starting pay is £14.65 per hour, rising to £15.16 after a 13-week probation. You must be 18 or over to apply for this role.

Qualifications

• A positive, reliable attitude and willingness to learn.
• Pride in doing a job well for our customers.
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
• Bakery experience is a bonus, but not essential; full training is provided.
• This is a physically demanding role, so you’ll need to be comfortable with standing for long periods, manual handling, and working at a fast pace throughout your shift.

Responsibilities

• Working safely in line with all Stephens' policies, procedures and health & safety legislation
• Preparing and chaffing dough
• Lidding pies and filling doughnuts
• Weighing ingredients and following recipes
• Filling machinery and hoppers
• Baking products to specification
• Packing and checking products to ensure quality compliance
• Cleaning production and packing areas to maintain excellent hygiene standards
