Job summary

Holroyd Howe in Boreham, Essex is seeking a reliable Weekend Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen team. You will help maintain cleanliness, organise equipment, and assist with basic food preparation to enable chefs to focus on service.

Weekend shifts require physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Applicants with prior kitchen porter experience are preferred, and good English communication helps with team coordination and safety

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar hospitality support role (desirable)
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding kitchen environment

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitise all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and glassware to the highest hygiene standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including floors, work surfaces, and storage areas
• Dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with food safety regulations
• Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
• Stock and replenish kitchen supplies and equipment as required
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
• Support the kitchen team during service periods to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to all food safety and health and safety regulations at all times
• Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly
• Work flexibly to meet the demands of weekend service
